How Do I Report A Bug or Issue

The primary purpose of Brightlight is to track issues and bugs. We have therefore tried to make the process of reporting issues as simple as possible.

1. Log into your account and select a project

The first step is to log into your account, after logging in you will be taken to your project dashboard. From here you should be presented with a list of projects you have been assigned too. Click on the name of the project.

2. Click on the "Create A New Ticket" button

After logging in and selecting a project you should be on the project overview page. On the top right hand side of the page there is a button named "Create A New Ticket". Click on this button this button and you will be presented with the create ticket window.

3. Complete the form

After clicking on the button you will be presented with the ticket creation form. Fill out the form with the necessary information and then submit it. The following is a list of the options available when completing the form.

Ticket Title - A brief description, usually one line, of the bug or issue.
Ticket Description - Use the description field to provide a more detailed description of the problem.
Ticket Owner - You can use this field to assign responsibility of the issue to an individual user.
Ticket State - The ticket state is used to display the current status of the issue. The four options are; open, hold, resolved and invalid.
Ticket Priority - Use this field to set the priority of the issue. The three options to chose from are; low, medium and high.
Milestone - If you are using milestones you can use this option to assign the issue to an individual milestone.

4. New issue added

Updated Issue List

After submitting the form successfully the window will close and you should be back on the project overview screen. A a brief moment the system will update the ticket list with information about the new ticket you have created.
